NAUNET

NAUNet is a two-way microwave circuit that connects ASU with Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona, their satellite campuses, and community colleges throughout the state. Remote sites include Kingman, Holbrook, Yuma, Tuba City, Keams Canyon, Kayenta, Prescott, Sierra Vista, Nogales, and other locations statewide. More sites are expected to be added in the future. The NAUNet is operated by broadcasters at Northern Arizona University, hence the name 'NAUNet'. Essentially, the guidelines for televised instruction apply to teaching via NAUNet; however, unlike other sites the connections among NAUNet sites are two-way video and audio. Instructors and remote students can easily interact, since they can see as well as hear one another. No telephone is required for interaction between sites and the classroom. All ASU locations (Tempe, ASU West, ASU Downtown, and ASU Polytechnic) can be set up for a two-way audio/video connection with the NAUNet.
The diagram below illustrates the microwave link between ASU and the NAUNET.
