Multicast Streaming

alt^I is testing and evaluating various multicast streaming technologies which will allow delivery of high bandwidth high-quality video to large numbers of viewers using solutions that will mitigate disruptions to our campus network. Uses for this technology include delivery of campus TV programming (currently delivered using traditional cable infrastructure), various distance learning applications, and large file sharing and collaboration.

ASUTV is currently available as a multicast stream. If you are on a multicaset-enabled network and would like to view the channel, go to http://dmit.asu.edu/live/multicast.html.
