Multicast Streaming of ASUtv

ASUtv is simulcast over a multicast stream which allows you to view ASUtv from your computer.  This video stream is viewable only on multicast-enabled networks. To determine if your connection is multicast enabled, go to http://detective.internet2.edu/ and run the Internet2 Detective applet. If your connection is located on the ASU network, and you are not multicast enabled, please contact the UTO Datacomm group - datacomm-q@asu.edu.

Please note that ASU's wireless network is NOT enable for multicast traffic. 

Follow the steps below to view ASUtv from your computer. 

  1. Download a third-party view such as VLC Player which is available at http://www.videolan.org/
  2. By RIGHT clicking on the file "vbs1d1.sdp" and selecting the 'Save Target As' button, you can save this file to your PC.   
  3. Bring up the VCL player and open the recently saved vbs1d1.sdp file. 
  4. ASUtv will begin appearing on your PC.
