Monitors

Hanging Monitor

Each studio is complete with 2-3 monitors positioned in various places throughout the classroom. These monitors show the program output, and they are intended for the students to see what you are doing. Most classrooms are equipped with overhead projectors as well.

2 MonitorsThere is also a small monitor on the instructor's desk in each of the five classroom studios. This monitor will typically display the program output, which is the same thing your students will be seeing in the classroom monitors. However, this monitor is also used by the Media Specialist to send you discrete messages. For example, the Media Specialist will send you time cues to let you know how much time is remaining in class when you are nearing the end of class.

Other common messages that you may see appear on the monitor are "Please ask students to press and hold microphone buttons when making comments" or "Your head is in the overhead camera shot".

Clock

Next to your monitor, you will see a small clock displaying the exact time. This clock is in sync with the clock in the control room, and also with the clock at Master Control. Because we must adhere to a tight broadcasting schedule, it is important for you not to extend your class beyond the scheduled end time.
