Microwave Technology
Arizona State University utilizes microwave broadcasting technology to converse with a wide varity of locations throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area and the state. The Educational Broadcast Sevice, or 'EBS', transmits locally from South Mountain and provides television service to all ASU campus locations and the Phoenix Metropolitan area. 'Studio Links' connect ASU television studios to the Tempe campus where they can be transmitted to points beyond, such as the EBS and NAUNet networks. The 'NAUNet' reaches university locations and community colleges throughout the state. There are various broadcast microwaves sites on the Tempe campus, including the rooftops of the Stauffer Building and Manzanita Residence Hall.
